Spaces to Dream In
Original wide plank pine floors, fireplace, his and her closets, four tall windows and 9.5' ceilings make this a light-filled and romantic master retreat. The 19' x 13' room includes a third closet hidden behind the entry door for additional storage. The magnificent brass bed seems made for the scale and elegance of the room and is available for purchase.
The main bathroom is next to the Master Bedroom and ready for luxurious baths and relaxation. The wormy chestnut paneling and imported Italian tiles create a joyful and unique space to greet you each morning.
Use this 18' x 15' room as the perfect Guest Room getaway, or re-purpose it as the Master Bedroom or Family/Media Room. Three built-in closets provide excellent storage and five windows bring in natural light and with wonderful views to the backyard and fields beyond the property. This space could easily be converted to a rental guest suite through AirBnB or VRBO. Simply use the third closet as a small breakfast bar with mini fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. Add a few shelves for dishes and cups and you could make an estimated $149 per night!
This gorgeous bathroom is next to the guest room; the smooth and rustic stone finishes, pine wainscoting and large walk-in jetted shower will delight anyone who enters. When you visit, look for the handmade flower design tiles that add beauty and whimsy to the decor and don't forget to say hello to the "monkeys with an attitude". The original stone wall makes you feel as if you are in a castle.
The upstairs hallway is light-filled and still has the original schoolhouse staircase banister and spindles. To the left is the entrance to the Guest Room and Bathroom, and a linen closet (not pictured) with excellent storage. For additional guest privacy, simply place a curtain across the single stair threshold to the left; it will feel like a private guest wing.
The third bedroom is smaller than the other two bedrooms (12' x 9"). The current owners called it the "Loft Room" because the ceiling was opened up to reveal the historic beam ceiling, which makes the space feel much bigger. It is currently used as a cozy TV room where popcorn, classic movies and sports are the stars of the show. A corner built-in, closet and loft access (not shown here) provide loads of storage, and a drop-down desk area make this the perfect spot for a quick laptop session. FUN IDEA: Use the ladder and turn the upper storage loft into a secret kid's space that will fit two twin beds!
