Small Town Near the Big City

Chester is known for country charm, but is less recognized for its central accessibility to important business and academic hubs.  In 20-30 minutes you can reach Morristown, the famous Route 1 Business Corridor, and Short Hills Mall.  In 45 minutes you can drive to Princeton and Newark Airport, or take the train into New York City and be part of the action in just over an hour.

Historic Chester offers a "Home Town" country atmosphere for shopping, dining and exploring. Reminiscent of America's old-time mercantile district, it's a trip down memory lane as you stroll the brick sidewalks, admire the preserved building facades and revel in the time-worn beauty that is still the very essence of Main Street.  Locals and tourists alike discover unique gifts daily in many of the 80+ specialty shops that feature highly sought-after antiques, crafts, clothing, jewelry, artwork, home furnishings and accessories, and more.  Of course, while you're in town, you'll want to indulge in the innovative cuisines found at local restaurants, and the confections offered at the sweet shops.  Chester is also home to The Streets of Chester Shopping Center, one of the Best Craft Shows in the nation, numerous farms and parks...and the renowned Cooper Gristmill, offering a full-day of excitement for both family and friends.  Historic Chester has something for everyone and is sure to provide you with a living, shopping and dining experience that will create lasting memories.
